Well the plan is simple, to train an exrace horse to compete in affiliated dressage compatitions.
I bought Woody last year on somthing of a whim. Brakes had been a major issue as he is a big strong boy, even if there is not a bad bone in his body. And Woody by name woody by nature, he is dead stiff. His movment is not flashy, more rangey and he has a camal trot. So I am intrested to see if he can compete against the warmbloods. Since i have never competed in affiliated dressage compatitions only PC and RC i am learning just as much as he is.
So far the concepts of dressage have been a forigen language to Woody, who only realy knew how to go fast in a streight line and only turning one way. Luckely his is natraly very chilled out and I did alot of hacking to build muscle, and work on the basics before i took him in to a school. Due to the snow and work he has had a month off, so this new year i will begin training him in ernist.
Wish me luck.
Below is a picture of wood's when i first got him.
Woody at the end of this summer after alot of work.
